Why Team India Released Mohammed Siraj From 2nd Test Against England?

The management of Team India has allowed Mohammed Siraj to leave the squad for the second Test against England in Vizag to give him some rest and manage his workload. He will be back for possible selection in the third game in Rajkot.

Mukesh Kumar has been included in the team as a replacement. Siraj has been playing consistently for the national team and had a subpar performance in the first match in Hyderabad, leading to Mukesh Kumar taking his place in the playing XI.

Why Mohammed Siraj Not Playing 2nd Test?

There could be several reasons for not playing Mohammed Siraj in the second test. In the first test, Rohit Sharma not used siraj much because the conditions favored spinners. Also, considering England team lineup as there is only one fast bowler Anderson, Rohit Sharma might not have felt the need for Siraj.

Another reason could be that Siraj hasn’t been very successful in taking wickets in India over the past year, so resting him for the second test might be a possibility with the thought of including him in the third test.

What Expert Thought About Siraj?

Parthiv Patel, a former Indian cricketer, suggests that for the second Test against England, India should consider dropping Mohammed Siraj and include an extra batsman.
