Harsha Bhogle criticized Yashasvi Jaiswal after he got out to James Anderson, suggesting that the batsman should have been more cautious against the bowler. Yashasvi Jaiswal Become 3rd Youngest Indian Batter To Score Double Century

Yashasvi began the day with a score of 179 runs. He quickly reached his first-ever double century during the 102nd over of India’s innings. Against debutant Shoaib Bashir, Yashasvi hit a series of boundaries, finishing with a strong six that signified his accomplishment of scoring more than 200 runs in the innings.

Yashasvi’s double century not only displayed his great skill but also made him a part of Indian cricket history. At just 22 years and 36 days old, he became the third youngest Indian to achieve this milestone in Test cricket. He joins the ranks of legendary players like Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar in this accomplishment.

Harsha Bhogle Criticized Yashasvi Jaiswal

The 22-year-old cricketer was losing support from his teammates and chose to face James Anderson aggressively. Given the state of India’s innings, this strategy wasn’t necessarily wrong.

However, Harsha Bhogle Criticized Yashasvi Jaiswal, suggesting that Yashasvi Jaiswal could have played out Anderson’s last over and then targeted the spinners. Despite this, Bhogle acknowledged Jaiswal’s outstanding innings, emphasizing its importance on a batting-friendly pitch where the next best individual score was only 34. According to Bhogle, without Jaiswal’s contribution, the situation for India could have been much more challenging.

How Fans of Yashasvi Jaiswal Reacted To Harsha Bhogle Comment?

Harsha Bhogle’s comment was not taken seriously by fans. In response to Bhogle’s post, fans commented that if it was not Jaiswal, India might not have reached 396 runs but instead could have been limited to around 240 runs.

Another fan mentioned that blaming Jaiswal for the mistake when no other batter scored more than 35 is unfair and suggested that Bhogle should stop criticizing. Yet another fan expressed that Jaiswal had no other option and any other batter in his place would have likely made the same decision

India Batting Struggle Against England

Apart from Yashasvi, the rest of the batsmen didn’t perform well despite favorable batting conditions. They struggled to build partnerships and didn’t focus on taking singles and doubles.

Captain Rohit Sharma only scored 14 runs, and Shubman Gill couldn’t capitalize on his good start. Other players like Shreyas Iyer (27), Rajat Patidar (32), Axar Patel (27), Srikar Bharat (17), and Ravichandran Ashwin (20) had opportunities to score more, but they couldn’t convert them into significant runs. Currently, Rohit’s team is trailing 0-1 in the five-match Test series.
