As the inauguration date of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya approaches, an interesting story has surfaced from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. An 85-year-old woman Saraswati devi there dreamt of inaugurating the temple, and amazingly, her dream came true on January 22.

The family now says that she will end her decades-long vow of silence. They explain that she had promised to speak again only when the construction of the Ram Mandir was finished. The family believes that on the day the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, Saraswati Devi had made this vow.

To be a part of the temple’s inauguration, she traveled from Dhanbad to Ayodhya. In Ayodhya, she is known as ‘Mouni Mata’ and communicates with her family through sign language, even though she can write but chooses not to speak.

Saraswati Devi, along with her four daughters and a total of eight children, decided to dedicate her life to Lord Ram after her husband, Devki Nandan Agrawal, passed away in 1986. Since then, she devoted herself to serving Lord Ram and spent most of her time visiting different pilgrimage sites. Currently, she lives in the Dhaiya area of Dhanbad with her son Nand Lal Agrawal.

Nandalal’s wife, Innu Agrawal (53), shared that a few years after they got married, she noticed her mother-in-law silently dedicating herself to Lord Ram. Innu said, “While we mostly understand her through signs, what she writes can be a bit complicated.” She explained, “After the Babri Masjid incident, my mother-in-law went to Ayodhya and decided to stay silent until the Ram Mandir was built.”

Upto 2020 She Used to Speak Only 1 Hour In Noon

For some time, she stayed quiet, talking only for an hour each day until 2020. But, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi started building the temple, she doesn’t talk at all during the day. The woman’s youngest son, Hareram Agrawal, explained, “On December 6, 1992, when the Babri Masjid was demolished, my mother decided not to speak until the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was built.
