Sanjay Leela Bhansali, born on February 24, 1963, is an Indian filmmaker and music composer famous for his work in Hindi films. He has received numerous awards, including seven National Film Awards and 12 Filmfare Awards, five of which were for Best Director.
He was also nominated for a BAFTA Award. In 2015, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award. Bhansali started his directorial journey with the romantic musical “Khamoshi: The Musical” in 1996.
