Mohit Pandey, who is from Lucknow, is studying for an MA (Acharya) at Sri Venkateswara Vedic University in Tirupati, managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Recently, he has been selected for training as a priest in the Ram temple.

Mohit Pandey Educational Journey

Mohit Pandey, training to become a priest at the Ram temple, went to Venkateshwar Vedic University after completing his studies in Samaveda. He finished his Acharya’s degree there and is currently getting ready for his PhD.

For the past seven years, Mohit has been studying the religion and rituals at Dudheshwar Ved Vidyapeeth. This institute has been providing Vedic education for the last 23 years.

Mohit Pandey Selected as a Chief Priests For Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Mohit Pandey, originally from Lucknow, has been chosen as the new chief priest for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He will be taking over from Acharya Satyendra Das, who served as the priest for 31 years.

Acharya Satendra Das, at approximately 82 years old, has retired due to his age. Now, Mohit Pandey will step into the role to continue the important duties at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

What Was Selection Process To Become Priests In Ayodhya Temple

There were around 3,000 applications from across the country for the position of priests in the Ayodhya temple. After reviewing the applicants’ education and experience, 200 candidates were shortlisted.

Following interviews, the list was further narrowed down to the top 50 candidates, who were then interviewed again and offered the position of priest in the temple. Saint Jaikant Mishra from Vrindavan and two Mahants from Ayodhya, Satyanarayan Das and Nandini Sharan, were given the task of choosing candidates.

Now, the selected individuals are undergoing a mandatory 6-month training. This training aims to improve their skills and get them ready to carry out their duties with precision and dedication.
