“Doors are Closed For Nitish Kumar” Said by Amit Shah, Know Full Story of BJP and Nitish Kumar

Nitish Kumar, who was once well-known as “Sushashan Babu” for his good governance in Bihar until 2013, has had a political journey with many changes. Since 2013, his political stance has shifted multiple times, and now, his opponents mockingly refer to him as “paltu kumar,” suggesting he frequently changes his political positions.

The current political unrest in Bihar suggests that he might switch sides again and align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Short Over-View of Nitish Kumar Political Journey

Nitish Kumar started his political journey in the 1970s with the Janata Party under leaders like Jayaprakash Narayan. However, in the 1990s, he went through a political transformation. He founded the Samata Party and became part of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.

Even after the formation of the Janata Dal (United), Kumar remained with the NDA until 2013, when Narendra Modi entered the national political scene. Since then, Kumar’s political path has been characterized by changes in ideology and unexpected shifts.

Nitish Kumar And BJP Connection

In 2013, when the BJP announced Narendra Modi as its candidate for Prime Minister, Nitish Kumar wasn’t pleased with this choice. As a result, he ended the 17-year alliance between his party, JDU, and the BJP. This decision had significant consequences for him.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, JD(U) won only two seats in Bihar, a considerable drop from its 2009 performance. Taking responsibility for the loss, Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister and appointed Jitan Ram Manjhi in his place. Despite leaving the NDA, the JD(U) government in Bihar managed to stay in power in the assembly with the support of the RJD, which was once its rival.

BJP Support to Nitish Kumar

Between 2015 and 2017, there were problems within the grand alliance, particularly between JD(U) and RJD. Nitish Kumar’s allies weren’t happy with JD(U) supporting the Modi government on issues like demonetization and GST. The situation worsened when the CBI filed a corruption case against Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and others in their family.

Kumar asked Tejashwi to resign, but when RJD refused, he ended the grand alliance, citing his “inner voice.” Following his resignation, the grand alliance government fell apart. Within hours, with support from the BJP, he became the Chief Minister again. His decision to break ties with RJD in 2017 and rejoin the NDA faced criticism, with many accusing him of political opportunism.

When BJP and Nitish Kumar Broke Alliance Again?

The JD(U)-BJP government continued to rule Bihar. In the 2020 assembly polls, both parties won, and Nitish Kumar remained the Chief Minister. However, his JD(U) secured fewer seats (43) compared to 71 seats five years ago. Meanwhile, the BJP’s seat count increased, limiting Kumar’s control compared to his earlier years from 2005 to 2013.

Disagreements arose within the JD(U)-BJP alliance, especially over issues like the National Register of Citizens. Tensions escalated when JD(U) accused the BJP of plotting to break Kumar’s party. On August 9, 2022, Kumar ended the alliance with the BJP. The next day, with support from the RJD (which had initially ruled out any alliance with Kumar), he became the Chief Minister again.

Amit Shah on Nitish Kumar

According to NDTV, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a surprising change by leaving the I.N.D.I.A bloc and rejoining the NDA ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This move follows several meetings and speculations about Nitish Kumar possibly leaving the I.N.D.I.A alliance.

A video is going around on social media where Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, talked about Kumar. In September 2023, Shah spoke at a public meeting in Bihar and criticized the alliance between Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying it’s like mixing “oil with water.”

In February 2023, Amit Shah accused Nitish Kumar of creating chaos in Bihar, something Nitish usually blamed on the previous Congress and RJD rule. Shah said that the BJP is now tired of their former ally’s constant changes, and they have decided to close their doors forever for Nitish Kumar.

Is Doors Are Open Again For Nitish Kumar?

It’s like a political drama! Amit Shah once confidently said that the BJP won’t welcome Nitish Kumar anymore. But guess what? Now there’s gossip that Nitish Kumar is thinking about joining the BJP. The big mystery: How long will the BJP keep its doors open for him, and when will they firmly close them again? Politics is full of surprises and keeps us guessing.
