What Did Rajkumar Hirani Said When Fans Asked About PK Sequel

“We’ll make the sequel. The film ended with Ranbir’s character (Kapoor) landing on the planet, so we have a story. Abhijat Joshi (the writer) still needs to write the story. “The day he writes, we’ll make it.”

Hirani said, “We’re not in it to make money. We’re in it to make cinema.” If money were our goal, by now, we would have produced six to seven [installations of] Munna Bhai and two to three [editions] of PK. We prefer joy, peace, and happiness over a few lakhs.

Hirani previously directed Ranbir in Sanju, which was released in 2018. It was a box-office hit. When asked in the same year about a PK sequel, he said: “At the end of script, no one was happy with Aamir’s decision to leave the planet.” We decided to have PK and another native of his planet return to Earth.
