Prithvi Shaw, who had a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire in England in August 2023, has recovered and will be back for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season starting on March 23. He has been out of action for the past five months.

However, the Delhi Capitals star batsman has started practicing batting again in the nets at the NCA.

“Prithvi Shaw has been at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a few months, working on his recovery and following all necessary procedures. Although he is batting regularly during practice, he still needs clearance to come back to actual cricket matches. As of now, it seems very unlikely that he will play in the Ranji Trophy,” shared a source familiar with the cricketer.

Rishabh Pant Started Practice for IPL 2024

On Tuesday, January 30, Rishabh Pant posted a workout video on Instagram, making Delhi Capitals fans happy before the new season. Pant couldn’t play in IPL 2023 due to injuries from a car crash in December 2022.

Delhi Capitals are optimistic about Pant making a comeback in the upcoming edition. There are speculations that DC might use Pant as an impact player since the wicketkeeper-batsman hasn’t fully recovered yet.

About Mens IPL 2024, When to Start?

The upcoming 17th season of the IPL 2024 is expected to take place from March 22 to May 26, as per a report. The BCCI has discussed the potential schedule for the Women’s Premier League (WPL), set to run from February 22 to March 17.

The IPL is likely to start five days after the WPL concludes. However, confirmation depends on the dates of the General Election in the country, and the BCCI aims to host the league in India.

If the March 22 to May 26 schedule is approved, the Indian team will have only five days to prepare for the T20 World Cup in the US and the Caribbean, starting on June 2. The report mentions that most cricket boards have assured the BCCI that their players will be available until the IPL final.
