Other greats like Garry Sobers, Viv Richards, and Ricky Ponting have each scored 8 centuries against India, with Sobers achieving this in 30 innings, Richards in 41, and Ponting in 51. Root’s consistent performance makes him a strong player in Test matches, especially against the Indian team.
