Evan Fournier Return to the Boston Celtics: A Perfect Match?

Evan Fournier was not happy with his tenure with the New York Knicks. The Boston Celtics 2021 trade deadline splash has often expressed frustration over his lack of playing time.

Fournier took shots at his former employers during his stay in New York.

Fournier (h/t New York Post) said, “I may be dreaming, but I believe I can contribute to the team.” “Like I’m a good player. I can play f—-. I also bring things that this team needs to have. Sincerity, I do have some hope of playing. I hope to play. I don’t even know if I’m a nutcase. I wonder if Thibs is already set on playing me.

Fournier also commented during the season 2022-23 about wanting to be moved from his current team.

Fournier stated, “If I stayed, it would be a disaster for my basketball career” (h/t New York Post). “I can handle a year of not playing.” “Two would be awful.”

Fournier is looking to leave New York. A Fournier trade would be the perfect solution for the Boston Celtics.

Evan Fournier is a vital piece for the Boston Celtics.

Fournier’s offensive versatility has been evident throughout his career. He can help the Boston Celtics with their three-point shooting, just as he did in 2020-21. During his brief stint with the Celtics, the Frenchman was a stellar 463% on the 3-point line. This type of shooting is more than welcome for the Boston Celtics, especially when Jaylen Tatum and Jaylen Brown are on rest and the bench.

Fournier was barely used during his Knicks tenure. He can still be a valuable contributor to the Celtics off the bench. Fournier can devote less energy on the defensive end than the Knicks require. He can be a vital piece of the Cs’ second unit.

Boston must find a solution to bring Fournier and his career back to life rather than letting him waste away on a bench for a squad that doesn’t recognize his capabilities.
