Why Dean Elgar Was Wearing Old Cape During His Last Cricket Match?

South Africa’s former captain, Dean Elgar, has retired from international cricket after the test series against India. The 36-year-old, who has played 84 tests and scored over 5,000 runs with 13 centuries, have made his final appearance at Newlands in Cape Town started January 3.

During Dean Elgar’s last game in Cape Town, we saw something strange – he wore an old, torn cape with a rip on the top. It made us wonder why he picked a worn-out cape for this important moment. It was surprising to see him in something not in the best shape, especially for such a big occasion. In this blog we will be talking about this strange thing and about Dean Elgar Cricketing history.

In Dean Elgar’s last cricket match, we noticed something interesting – he was wearing an old cape with a tear on the top. We noticed the thing while he was talking to Virat Kohli.

Although there was no official word from his side that why he was wearing such cape but we think he might have chosen his first or debut cape for his goodbye game, making it look quite old. Perhaps, it meant something special to him.

Elgar expressed his decision, saying, “The Indian home series will be my last,” and added that Cape Town, where he scored his first Test run, holds a special place in his heart.
