BCCI Announced Team India For Afghanistan T20 Series, Rohit Sharma Will Be The Captain

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in the T20 International cricket team for the first time since November 2022. The Indian cricket board has selected team India for a 3-match series against Afghanistan, beginning on January 11, 2024, in Mohali.

The other matches of team india will be held on January 14 in Indore and January 17 in Bengaluru. This series is India’s final T20I series before the T20 World Cup in June.

The senior selection committee gathered in Mumbai on Sunday to choose the team India. The 16-player squad has a nice combination of young and experienced players. Notably, senior fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are not part of the squad. This decision is made considering the upcoming 5-Test series against England, which begins at the end of the month.

The squad includes Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma as wicketkeeper, Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar.
