Who was Bishan Singh Bedi?

Bishan Singh was an Indian cricketer. He was known as a left-arm slow orthodox bowler. He was a member of the Indian spin quartet and played Test cricket from 1966 to 1978. He took 266 wickets in 67 tests. He captained the National side in 22 test matches.

Bishan Singh played domestic cricket for the Delhi team. He retired from all forms of cricket and became a mentor for several young Indian cricketers. Bishan Singh has also worked as a pundit and commentator in many cricket matches. The former cricketer managed the Indian cricket team during 1990’s New Zealand and England tour.

Bishan Singh Bedi was the Indian Cricket Team’s captain for four years between 1975 and 1978 after Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi retired. From 1974 to 1982, he was the captain of the Delhi Ranji for the longest time. The legendary spinner has taken 266 wickets, including 14 five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket.
